Getting Started

Count Anything is a free word-counting utility. It can provide word counts for many different file types, including Word (.doc, .rtf), PowerPoint (.ppt), Excel (.xls, .csv), XML, HTML, and plain text.

You can select individual files or entire folders to count, and drill down on count results to get details about specific files, character types, and Asian character types.

Download and Install

Download the latest version of Count Anything from the Count Anything Website. Once you've downloaded the installer, double click on it and follow the on-screen instructions to install the program.

Starting Count Anything

If you selected to add a shortcut to the desktop, there'll be a "Count Anything" icon on your desktop. Double click on the icon to start the program.

You can also start Count Anything from the Start menu. Select Start >> All Programs >> CountAnything >> CountAnything to start the program.
